dc.description.abstract | The third Semester students (2019 admission) created an audio book version of the sanskrit play Urubhangam of Bhasa in January, 2021 under the guidance and training of Dr. Vinitha E, HoD, Dept. of Sanskrit. The one act play is a part of their 3rd Semester Common Course- ‘Samskritha Sahithya Samiksha- Drama and Alankara’. The plot of Urubhangam is based on the Mahabharata. Bhasa through his innovations has succeeded in creating a new type of tragey in Sanskrit literature with the well known characters like Duryodhana, Dhritharashtra, Gandhari, Aswadhama and Balarama drawn from the great epic Mahabharata and the pathetic situations developed by his own creative power. | en_US |
